FORM
The topic of my design issue was the play of solids in the urban tissue, so in my project I wanted to capture the lightness of the solid permeating the urban fabric in the buildings of historic tenement houses. The building is characterized by two pro-walled, light blocks that abstract in an abstract way from the glass facade of the "new tenement house". Each floor corresponds to a specific function, i.e. on the ground floor there is a hall and a restaurant with a green terrace. Storey +1 is an exhibition room with a mezzanine, lit by a glass ceiling, and a creative space with a terrace. Storey +2 it is a small library with technical facilities. Floor -3 is a hall and a high three-story exhibition space intended for installations, illuminated by a glass ceiling which is the inviting floor of the building. Floor -2 is a conference room with technical facilities. The -1 floor, which is the heart of the building, is also a technical space. All floors are connected by a sanitary core and 3 lifts (one is technically located), hidden by a staircase and open to a staircase serving as representative, decorative and exhibition functions.
CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS
The structure of the building consists of reinforced concrete foundations, external and internal load-bearing walls made of reinforced concrete. The partition walls are made of 12 cm thick gypsum boards. The interior of the building is finished with white cement plaster, floors finished with high concrete slabs and stoneware on a concrete screed. From the outside, the building is insulated with 18 cm thick polystyrene. The overhang on which the terrace is located was constructed using the shield wall technology that supports the ceiling. The terrace on the 0th floor is green, partially lined with frost-resistant boards.
